Adventure Galley Portfolio About

I’m currently working for Sinch as Senior Product Design Manager focusing on Strategy and User Research. I’m part of a fast-growing design team, caring for users need in a multi product eco-system and infusing design thinking into the organization. I live in Malmö on the southern tip of Sweden, together with my wife and our two daughters.

Sinch is a world leader in communication providing business with a wide range of tools to engage with their customers in modern ways. We offer API products for SMS, WhatsApp, Instagram and omni-conversations, SaaS platforms for customer support, marketing and chatbots as well as custom solutions, internal tools and operator software.

I started at Sinch in 2019 as one of two designers. During 3,5 years I led the design team and grew it from 2 to 20 designers. We established a design organization, set goals and processes, and carved out our roles and responsibility. Sinch has had a rocket ship growth through acquisitions and organic growth and today we are over 40 designers. With the growth of the organization, I’ve had to dig into many different areas and I’ve lead many different initiatives, e.g. coached and managed design leaders, been acting PM for the design system team (Nectary), facilitating workshops to set product vision and direction, pitched solutions to customers, produced product concepts, produced icons and animations and worked close with the brand team, been a product designer, lead the research team etc.

Before Sinch I worked as a UX designer for two years with the hybrid watch brand Kronaby. Kronaby is a watch that connects to your smartphone. Via the Kronaby app you can set up the functionality displayed by the watch. I did various tasks ranging from video mockups of new products, drawing wireframes for the Kronaby app and illustrating final assets to producing and editing marketing material and doing user tests to evaluate our product.

Before joining Anima I was employed by Volvo in Gothenburg. I designed the digital interfaces of the cars and became a specialist in driver information. I was also part in designing the interfaces for Volvo’s autonomous driving concepts. During my time at Volvo I was a part of writing user stories, creating concepts which were tested in drivable prototypes, refining concepts into production ready features and interacting with suppliers to make sure that the final product lived up to our expectations. Oddly enough, what I’m most proud of are the patterns I designed for the in-car speaker system in the XC90 Inscription model.

Besides work and family, my biggest interests are running and cycling. I’ve done endurance sports for the last ten years and I enjoy racing my road bike and running in the forests. My third biggest interest is cooking and right now in particular baking bread. Working with your hands to create something out of nothing (plus flour, water and salt) is both a refreshing change from designing by the computer all day but also very similar.

I’m a hardworking and dedicated designer with a technical background and an eye for details. As a manager I’m caring and always trying to see the big picture. I’ve been described as positive, quick to learn and productive. I’m not afraid to ask the stupid questions to get things right and I’m pragmatic and diplomatic. And I like to listen to rock music.
